Chimney sweep companies near me — Portland, OR

Last updated: September 24, 2026

The part of chimney cleaning that often surprises Portland residents is the thoroughness required to prevent chimney fires. Licensed, insured pros explain that creosote, a byproduct of burning wood, is highly flammable. Their meticulous cleaning process removes this dangerous buildup from your flue, smoke chamber, and firebox. This ensures safe operation, especially during Portland's rainy season when fireplaces are used more frequently. The pros are familiar with the types of wood-burning systems common in the area, from classic brick chimneys to modern inserts. They'll detail the steps they take, emphasizing how each action contributes to your home's safety. This detailed approach is crucial for peace of mind. Don't let the surprise of creosote buildup pose a risk.

What affects the price

The final cost for your chimney service depends on a few specific factors. We look at the total height of the chimney stack, the level of creosote buildup inside the flue, and whether you have a standard masonry fireplace or a prefabricated metal insert. If there are structural blockages like nests or excessive debris that require extra labor, that will also adjust the estimate. We avoid hidden fees, but every setup is unique, so we evaluate the condition of your liner and firebox upon inspection.

About this service

When choosing a chimney sweep company, look for teams that offer comprehensive inspections alongside their cleaning services. A good company will document their findings and show you photos of the flue condition before and after the work is done. They handle everything from basic soot removal to identifying structural issues like missing mortar or damaged crowns. Keeping your chimney in good condition is a year-round job, so it is best to call before the first fire of the season.

Summer is the best time to inspect your chimney while the weather is clear. We can easily spot structural issues, loose mortar, or cap damage that might have gone unnoticed during the winter. Getting your chimney serviced now means you are fully prepared for the first cold snap of autumn. Give us a call to book your inspection.
